installation.
The Muny Fan Club
Harry & Sally Johnston, The
Johnston Family Fund, Mr.
and Mrs. William Holekamp,
Chuck and Jan Mueller along
with a host of other corporate
and individual contributors
made possible our air
circulation (fan) project that
was installed before the 2013
season. The whisper quiet
fans that ring the theatre
and the new blower systems
provide our audiences with
refreshing breezes, while
dramatically reducing the
amount of power used to
generate a new level of
comfort in the theatre.
Kirberg Company
Through a generous
donation, Kirberg Company
has made possible the
installation of an
80-module solar panel
system that produces
25,000 kWh of energy each
year, more than enough
to power the spotlights
and Muny fans. The solar
array will help The Muny
save thousands of dollars
in energy expenses while
reducing its environmental
impact.
Big Shark Bicycle Company
Many Muny performers and
creative artists now make
their daily journey to The
Muny on bicycles provided
by Big Shark Bicycles. As
an enjoyable option for
our artists, the bicycles
also reduce the number of
trips required by our artist
shuttles, saving fuel and
contributing to a healthier
environment.

The Muny is fortunate to work with partners
that share its desire to become a more
energy efficient and environmentally
responsible facility.
Here is a look at a few:
Republic Services
Now in its fourth year, the
Muny recycling program
recycles a substantial portion
of the waste generated in the
auditorium (cups, bottles, etc.),
along with many scenic and
shop elements that would have
previously gone into
landfills. Republic recycles
more than 14,000 tons of waste
annually in the St. Louis area.
Missouri Department
of Conservation
As The Muny’s Official
Conservation Partner and
sponsor of The Muny’s Mighty
Oaks, MDC works annually
to remind our guests of the
importance of our natural
environment. The Muny’s
outdoor setting creates a
beautiful environment for our
productions, and also supplies
cooling shade and wind
abatement that contribute to
an enjoyable Muny experience.
The Muny and MDC urge you
