The story of
Frederic, having reached his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship
to a band of tenderhearted pirates. He meets Mabel, and the two young
people fall instantly in love. The story tells how Frederic, the motley
pirate crew, Mabel, and her gaggle of proper young ladies struggle to
reverse a curse and find true love. Based on the 1880 Gilbert & Sullivan
operetta, this new version of
Pirates of Penzance
re-imagines the classic,
and incorporates a Caribbean sensibility.
