Synopsis:   

A prisoner is persuaded by a spurned military governor to impersonate a prince, who will then marry a young countess who has rejected the governor. The prisoner and the countess learn that they truly love one another, and when the prisoner successfully overthrows a coup against Poland, he is rewarded with wealth, a title, and the countess he loves.
