Synopsis:   

Count René, in Paris for Carnival, picks up an attractive woman, later revealed to be Madame Pompadour, the King's mistress. The Count is discovered and arrested, but Madame Pompadour grants him a reprieve. Louis XV hopes to catch his mistress with her lover, but she outwits the King.
